Preparing Your Pamphlet File

The first thing you need to do when preparing a Pamphlet file is to build it to the correct size. The next step, no matter the size you choose, allow 1/8th inch of space between your type and where your file will be trimmed.

Preferred file type is a high-resolution (300dpi) PDF file.

Color

4/4 - Color on Both Sides

Uses all four print colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to blend together for a full-color print front and back.

4/1 - Color on Front, One Color on Back

The front is printed in the 4 color process as in 4/4 printing but the back is only printed using 1 spot color. Black is the most typical on a 4/1 print.

70# Text Stock

Similar to high quality printer paper.

100# Gloss Text

Slighly heavier than 70# Text Stock and glossy.

100# Gloss Cover

Even heavier than the 100# Gloss Cover giving the paper a substantial feel.

Folding

Half-Fold

A simple fold similar to a book creating two panels.

Z-Fold

Also known as an accordian fold creating 3 panels on both sides.

Double Gate Fold

Left and right edges of the paper are folded to meet in the middle along the center fold.

Double-Parallel Fold

The paper is folded in half and then in half again.

Tri-Fold

Also known as the letter fold, this is the most popular style for brochures. Creates three panels on each side.

Gate Fold

Two folds are created to reveal a third panel when opened.

Roll Fold

Folds roll into themselves.
